Last night, Tuesday 23rd February, Samantha Cameron welcomed guests and supporters of Just a Drop into her home at 10 Downing Street for a special private reception to celebrate the achievements of the international water development charity.
Guests, including Just a Drop founder Fiona Jeffery OBE, journalist and newscaster Alastair Stewart OBE, round the world yachts woman Tracy Edwards MBE and international business leaders from across the world, gathered in the State Rooms and took the rare opportunity to meet Samantha and learn about the vital work of the charity.
Fiona Jeffery OBE had this to say about the special event:
“This was a very exciting day for Just a Drop. We’ve come a long way since 18 years ago when I first discovered that just £1 could supply a child with water for 10 years. In that time we have managed to help people all over the world gain access to clean water and now we are at No 10. I cannot convey how grateful I am to Samantha for opening up her home to us so that we may celebrate all the wonderful work that we do.”
In addition to a wonderful night, Just a Drop long time Trustee and Project Officer, Col Mike Reynolds, received the Point of Light award which was presented to him by Samantha Cameron in recognition of his service and dedication to providing clean and safe water for those most in need.
