Kayenje SchoolEdward once saw a leopard on his way to collect water from a dirty pond for his class-mates.

The risk of encountering wild animals, such as snakes and hyenas, were what worried Edward the most on his way to collect water. He also found it hard work, especially when Edward Kakoozahe was walking uphill with a heavy can full of water; the journey used to take a long time and meant that he often missed some of his lessons.

With help from Just a Drop, Edward’s school now has two rainwater harvesting tanks which provide enough clean water for everyone in his village.

“Now, when I’m very thirsty, I can enjoy a drink of clean water at any time of the day. I once saw a leopard on my way to get water, but now I don’t have to worry about such things.”
